Offline Chemical Cleaning

Chemical cleaning is the best means for removing solid deposits on the inside of the pipeline which cannot be removed by mechanical cleaning like pigs . The pipeline sections which can be shut down or can afford to be taken offline can be cleaned by taking the pipeline out of service. The chemicals removes away the black powder or wax or paraffin from the inside of pipelines. The pipeline section was pumped with water or fluids mixed with chemical and is pushed into the pipeline section using pigs. The other way to push the chemicals is to prepare the batch of chemical and the push it batching pigs. The chemical is then allowed to be in contact with pipeline surface for no of hours where it reacts with the debris,/wax/ paraffin and making it lose . Series of pig runs are then performed to remove all the loosen deposits. This is the best method to clean pipeline section using chemical and it really ensures all the deposits around the pipeline surface is cleaned . The choice of chemical is depends upon the debris and the debris is collected from the pipeline section, debris analysis is conducted in lab and suitable chemical is used to dissolve the debris in the lab. The chemical performance is tested in the lab on the debris sample and based on the lad test the concentration and batch and volume of chemical is designed . the contact time of chemical is also important factor is achieving best chemical cleaning.
